New Five Dollar Bills Are ReadyThe U.S. Treasury Department’s Bureau of Engraving & Printing has begun to circulate a new five dollar bill designed to further discourage counterfeiting of the nation’s currency. The currency will still feature a portrait of Lincoln, but it will be with splashes of color surrounding it along with other high-tech changes to make it more difficult to copy or counterfeit.
The goal was to have 1.5 billion in bills ready for circulation by March, which means they will show up at laundry bill changers soon. Most will need to be adapted to accept the new bills. An article beginning on page 18 will explain steps necessary to convert yours. Date:-05/28/2011 By:-Admin |
