Girl Abducted from St. Paul LaundromatCourtesy of the Coin Laundry News The Giant Wash coin laundry was extremely busy on a Sunday. Every machine was in use and one witness said there were fifty or sixty people there at the time. Few of them took notice of the one man there who was not doing wash. He did seem to be interested in one particular little eight year old girl and convinced her to come out to his car and see his really cute puppy. Once there, he grabbed her and drove off. An amber alert around the Twin Cities quickly followed and police had a pretty good description of both he and his car. At his residence the girl asked for a glass of water and when he went to the kitchen to get it, she ran out. A couple driving by noticed the girl walking alone along the highway and saw that she wasn’t dressed for the weather. They stopped to ask her if she needed help. “Somebody took me,” she said. They called police, and the girl and her family were reunited. “I’m really proud of her that she could help herself out of this danger,” her father said. The culprit was found by police hiding under a car in the garage. He is being held in county jail. Police would neither confirm or deny if the child had been sexually assaulted. The perpetrator’s criminal record only seem to be driving related with DUIs and an overweight vehicle conviction in 2009. There had been no pedophile indications, until now.
