Bring Education To Laundromats

A woman’s group back east hit upon a novel idea for getting children interested in reading. They call it “Learning at the Laundromat”. They collect children’s books then redistribute them in their area’s laundries. The purpose is to provide reading materials to the children who may not have any. The idea is that books, even worn ones, can get children excited about reading. It must really work, because a day or two after books are left in the laundry, they are gone. The business owner has the advantage of free items that keep the children busy while their moms do the wash. Cuts down on cart races and general mischief children can get into while at the laundry. This idea should spread. Must be a group near you that could adopt a similar project.
