07 Clean Show Tops Clean 05

Attendance at Clean ‘07, held June 11-14 in Las Vegas, topped the previous show: Clean ‘05 in Orlando. A total of 14,667 people converged on the Las Vegas Convention Center for the world’s largest textile care exposition. Attendance at Clean ‘05 was 13,951. Nearly 10,000 registrants were attendees there to see the new technologies and products showcased over 227,950 net square feet of exhibit space by 484 exhibiting companies. “Las Vegas continues to be a good venue for the Clean Show. All indications are that exhibitors had a great show and Clean ‘07 was a huge success,” said John Riddle, president of Riddle & Associates, the show’s management company. “Attendees seemed equally pleased with all they were able to see and learn.” The Clean Show celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. The biennial show began in 1977 as a means of consolidating several smaller shows for greater financial feasibility. The show attracts all segments of the garment and textile care industry – retail, commercial, coin, institutional and industrial laundering, drycleaning and textile rental. A textile care museum was a popular feature of Clean ‘07. International attendance was also up from Clean ‘05. The show drew 1,948 international visitors from 82 countries. “This indicates that the Clean Show is truly recognized as an international exposition,” Riddle said. Educational sessions, an integral part of the show, drew standing room only crowds. Clean ‘09 is scheduled for June 18-21, 2009 in New Orleans. “The show has evolved over the 26 years I have worked with it,” Riddle said. Many mergers have taken place in the industry, but booths are bigger, utility requirements are greater, and freight weights are higher. Twenty years ago there were several venues that could accommodate the show.
